Terms & Conditions
Alicantehirecar Alicante · Alicante, Spain · Last updated June 2026
These Terms & Conditions explain how Alicantehirecar Alicante works as a car-hire comparison and booking platform for Alicante and the wider Costa Blanca. Please read them before you reserve a car, as using this website means you accept them.
1. Introduction and acceptance
Welcome to Alicantehirecar Alicante. This website helps travellers compare and book car hire in Alicante and along the Costa Blanca, Spain. By browsing the site, searching for vehicles, or completing a booking through it, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions and to our privacy practices. If you do not agree with any part of them, please do not use the service. We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in the law or in how we operate; the version shown here, with the date above, is the one that applies to your visit.
2. About our service — we are a comparison platform
It is important to be clear about who we are. Alicantehirecar Alicante is an independent affiliate and comparison platform. We are not a car rental company, and we do not own, operate or maintain any of the vehicles shown. What we do is display live availability and prices from third-party car-hire suppliers and local agencies operating at Alicante Airport (ALC) and across the Costa Blanca, so you can compare them in one place. When you reserve a car, the rental contract is formed directly between you and the supplier you choose — not with us. The supplier sets the vehicle, the rental terms, the insurance cover, the deposit rules and the conditions at the desk. We may earn a commission from the supplier when a booking is made through our links; this never adds to the price you pay.
3. Bookings and the rental agreement
When you complete a reservation, you enter into a rental agreement governed by the supplier's own terms, which are presented to you before you confirm. Please read them carefully, as they cover fuel policy, mileage limits, additional drivers, cross-border travel and what is included in the price. After booking you should receive a confirmation by email with a voucher or reference number; bring it, along with the required documents, to the rental desk. The final rental contract is signed in person at pickup in Alicante. We pass your booking details to the chosen supplier so they can prepare your vehicle, but we are not party to the contract you sign at the counter.
4. Prices, payment, deposits and holds
Prices shown are provided by the suppliers and are typically quoted in euros. They can change with demand, season and availability, and the price is only fixed once your booking is confirmed. Some rates are paid in advance online, while others are paid in part or in full at the desk — the payment method for each offer is shown before you book. Suppliers commonly place a refundable security deposit or pre-authorisation hold on the main driver's card at pickup; the amount, the accepted card types and the release timing are set by the supplier and explained in their terms. Local extras such as additional-driver fees, child seats, tolls, traffic fines or refuelling charges may be billed separately by the supplier and are not collected by us.
5. Driver requirements and documents
Requirements vary by supplier and vehicle category, but you will generally need a valid full driving licence held for a minimum period, a passport or national ID, and, in many cases, a payment card in the main driver's name. Minimum and maximum age limits apply, and young or newly qualified drivers may face a surcharge. If your licence was issued outside the EU, an International Driving Permit alongside your national licence is often required in Spain — check the supplier's conditions before you travel. It is your responsibility to make sure you and any additional drivers meet these requirements; if you arrive at the desk without the correct documents, the supplier may refuse the rental, and a refund may not be possible.
6. Insurance and excess
Cover is arranged by the rental supplier, not by us. Most rates include basic third-party liability, collision damage waiver and theft protection, but these usually carry an excess — the amount you remain liable for if the car is damaged or stolen. Some offers reduce this excess to zero, and others let you add protection at the desk. We label key insurance details on each offer where suppliers make them available, but the supplier's policy document is the authoritative source. Read it to understand what is and is not covered, including windscreen, tyres, undercarriage and roadside assistance, and decide whether you want any additional cover before you sign.
7. Cancellations and changes
Cancellation and amendment rights depend on the rate you select. Many bookings can be cancelled free of charge up to a set time before pickup, while some discounted rates are non-refundable — the policy is shown clearly on each offer before you confirm. To cancel or change a reservation, follow the instructions in your confirmation email or contact us and we will pass your request to the supplier. Refunds, where due, are processed under the supplier's policy and to the original payment method. No-shows and late collections are treated according to the supplier's terms and may not be refundable.
8. Liability and disclaimers
We work to keep the availability, prices and descriptions on this site accurate, but because the data comes from third-party suppliers and changes constantly, we cannot guarantee that every detail is error-free or current at all times. As a comparison platform, Alicantehirecar Alicante is not responsible for the condition of the vehicle, the conduct of the supplier, the cover provided, or any dispute arising from your rental — these are matters between you and the supplier under the contract you sign. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as a consumer under Spanish or EU law, or excludes liability where it cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Intellectual property
The text, layout, graphics and original content on this website are owned by or licensed to Alicantehirecar Alicante and are protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. You may view and share pages for your own personal, non-commercial use, but you may not copy, republish or scrape our content for another website or service without our written permission. Supplier names, logos and trademarks shown on the site remain the property of their respective owners and are used only to identify the offers being compared.
10. Data protection, governing law and contact
We handle your personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Spanish data protection law. We collect only the information needed to process and support your booking — such as your name, contact details and travel dates — and we share it with your chosen supplier so they can deliver the rental. We do not sell your data. You have the right to access, correct or delete your information and to object to certain processing; our privacy policy explains how to exercise these rights. These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Spain and, where applicable, the European Union, and any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the competent Spanish courts. If you have questions about your booking, these terms or your data, contact us and we will be glad to help.
Who is responsible for what
Because we are a comparison platform and not the rental company, it helps to know which part of your Alicante car hire is handled by us and which is handled by the supplier you book with.

A few things worth checking
A smooth pickup at Alicante Airport usually comes down to reading the offer carefully and arriving prepared. These pointers help you avoid surprises at the desk.
Read the supplier's terms
Fuel policy, mileage, extra drivers and what the price includes are all set by the supplier and shown before you confirm.
Bring the right documents
A valid licence, ID or passport and, for non-EU licences, often an International Driving Permit. Check the age limits too.
Understand the excess
Know how much you remain liable for and whether you want to add cover to reduce or remove the excess before signing.
Check the deposit rules
Suppliers may hold a refundable amount on the main driver's card at pickup. The accepted cards and release timing are theirs to set.
Note the cancellation policy
Some rates cancel free up to a deadline; others are non-refundable. The policy is shown on each offer so you can choose.
Inspect the car at pickup
Photograph any existing damage and the fuel level when you collect the vehicle, and make sure it is recorded before you drive off.
